Project:
The Consumer™

The project presents a satirical perspective on the advertising industry—and it’s role in developing consumerist attitudes. By utilizing advertisings own devices, both in content and in form I aimed to expose its social short fallings. To achieve this I constructed a hypothetical scenario to use as a platform for it to exist within and around:

Feeling the effects of an economy moving into recession, the advertising industry has incorporated as an industry-wide public relations strategy to re-sell itself to the corporate world. The newly formed Madison Avenue Group will engage in an aggressive advertising and marketing campaign to justify its worth and encourage continued spending during these difficult times.

This marketing strategy required a visual identity, with the brand further developed by an accompanying advertising campaign and product guide to detail the main product that the industry manufactures and sells—The Consumer.
